Louise E. Koski, age 96, of 224 N. Maple St., Gwinn, died at her home at 7:30 PM on Friday, February 22, 2008.
Louise was born July 31, 1911 in Palmer to Alfred & Edith (Liquia) Swanson and was a lifelong area resident. She worked at for the H.W. Gossard Company in the 1940's and for the Gwinn Area Community Schools for nearly 14 years, retiring in 1971.
Mrs. Koski was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Gwinn, the Gwinn Merry Mixers, and the Gwinn Historical Society. Her interests included volunteer work at her church, cooking, reading and puzzles.
Surviving are 2 daughters: Gloria (Richard) LaFave of Gwinn, Mary Lou (John) Hamm of Clearfield, KY, 4 sons: John 'Jack' Koski, William (Judy) Koski, Robert Koski and Paul (Betsy) Koski, all of Gwinn, 9 grandchildren: Louise (Mark) Ingalls, Richard LaFave, Mary Beth (Tom) Armstrong, John Paul Hamm, Robert (Linda) Hamm, Amy Koski, Mary Koski, Chris Koski and Kim Zampini, 10 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter, a sister, Marilyn Jarvi and a brother-in-law, Emil Jarvi, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John W. Koski in 1971, 6 sisters: Gladys Marietti, Charlotte Oster, Evelyn Kecker, Mary Margaret Brady, Aurora Barry, and Marilyn Jarvi, 3 brothers: Robert and Paul Collick, and Jack Hill.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday at Grace Lutheran Church, Gwinn with Rev. Chad Christensen officiating. Burial will be in the Gwinn Cemetery. Mrs. Koski's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service at noon at the church on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Grace Lutheran Church Endowment Fund (G.L.C.E.F.) in Louise's memory.
