Cremation dates back to ancient times, people choose cremation for a variety of reasons. Philosophical, religious, environmental, and financial reasons sometimes play a very important role. Our purpose at Kramer Family Funeral Home, is to provide your family with affordable cremation services while preserving dignity, support and caring for your family.

It has been said that the sharing of grief with our family and friends helps to lessen that grief. Through the ages, memorialization has served to fulfill our instinctive wish to honor those who have died. When you select cremation, it is important to recognize that it is only a process for preparing a body for its final disposition—not a replacement for memorialization, unless you so desire. For this reason, we offer you a range of memorialization options to best serve your needs.

The Process:
Cremation is the process in which the body of the deceased is reduced to bone fragments by the way of intense heat. The body is placed in a cremation container and then placed in a special furnace called a cremation chamber or retort for approximately 2-3 hours to complete at an average temperature of 1800 degrees Fahrenheit. Fragments of the remains are processed into a finer substance or ashes. Cremated remains then are placed in an urn or temporary container. Cremains of an average size adult weigh between three and nine pounds and take up a volume of approximately 200 cubic inches.
