Donavan Dale Schultz was born November 16, 1937 to Melvin and Fronia (Olson) Schultz in Welcome, Minnesota. He was baptized and later confirmed at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Welcome. Don then attended school in Welcome. He was employed by the Welcome Creamery, Arts-Way in Armstrong, Iowa and Eagle Engineering in Welcome. Most recently, Don was employed for Jeff Miller at his farm in rural Welcome.

Don died on Wednesday morning, July 23, 2008 at Fairmont Medical Center in Fairmont Minnesota from complications of ALS at the age of seventy years.

Survivors include his three children, Julie, Rick, Dale and families; brothers, Dick Schultz and wife, Darlene, of Welcome, Minnesota, Kenneth Schultz of Jackson, Minnesota; sisters, Norma Caquelin and husband, Gary, Ruth Ann Wannarka and Elaine Flohrs and husband, Lowell, all of Fairmont, Minnesota; nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Donavan was preceded in death by his brother, Willard Schultz; two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, nephew and other relatives.

Interment will be in the Welcome City Cemetery.
