| | | Katharine Louise Uhrhammer was born April 30, 1909 in Martin County, Minnesota to William and Maude Uhrhammer. She received her education in country school in Martin County. In May of 1942, she was united in marriage to Milton Payne Freeman at the home of her parents in Elm Creek Township, rural Trimont, Minnesota while Milton was stationed in Florida in the Army. After his honorable discharge they returned to Minnesota and farmed near Trimont. In 1955 they moved to Sherburn. Katharine received her Nursing Degree from Correspondence from the Chicago School of Nursing by mail. She also attended dress making school in Fairmont. They lived in New Ulm, Spencer, Iowa, Spirit Lake, Iowa until moving to Estherville, Iowa. Milton died on April 27, 2002. Katharine was a member of United Methodist Church in Sherburn until it closed. She greatly enjoyed crocheting, gardening, traveling and had friends from Florida via Oregon.
Katharine died on Sunday, August 10, 2008 at Rosewood Manor in Estherville, Iowa at the age of ninety-nine years.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Ellaweas Carver of Rustin, Louisiana; many cousins and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Katharine was preceded in death by other relatives.
Interment will be in Elm Creek Cemetery in rural Trimont, Minnesota.
