| | | Martha Ringering was born March 17, 1908 in rural Everly, Iowa, the daughter of John and Ida (Groenewold) Ringering. She attended and later graduated from High School in Everly, Iowa . She lived and worked in the Everly, Iowa area. On June 28, 1935 she was united in marriage to Ira Tlam at the First Reformed Church in rural Everly, Iowa. They later purchased a farm near Dunnell, Minnesota. In 1957, they purchased a farm near Trimont. In 1959, they sold it and moved back to a farm near Dunnell where they built a new home there. In 1974, they retired and built a new home in Sherburn, Minnesota. Ira died on January 30, 1999. Martha later moved into Temperance Lake Ridge Assisted Living in Sherburn. Since June of 2008, she has been a resident of Rosewood Manor in Estherville, Iowa. Martha was a life-long member of the Methodist Faith. She greatly enjoyed working in her garden, baking her home made bread and being with family and friends.
Martha died Sunday afternoon November 2, 2008 at Rosewood Manor in Estherville, Iowa at the age of One Hundred years.
Survivors include her two sons and their wives, Eldon and Lorraine Tlam and Dean and Judy Tlam both of rural Dunnell, Minnesota; five grandchildren; Daryl and wife, Jackie Tlam of rural Dunnell, Renee Long of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, Dale and wife, Amy Tlam of Mt. Vernon, South Dakota, Kevin Tlam of Spencer, Iowa, Carla Lindquist and husband, Dustin of Rochester, Minnesota; seven-great-grandchildren, Kaylin, Gavin and Erin Tlam, Isaac Long, Synday, Logan and Hagan Tlam; nieces and nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by husband, Ira Tlam; one brother and three sisters and other relatives..
Interment will be in Lake Fremont Cemetery in Dunnell, Minnesota.
