Lori Ann Nelson was born on November 14, 1958 to Howard and Elaine (Heppner) Nelson in St. James, Minnesota. She was baptized and later confirmed at Kansas Lake Lutheran Church rural Butterfield. Due to her health Lori made her home at REM Heartland in Fairmont. She was employed by MRCI where she volunteered at Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont. Lori enjoyed going to movies, bowling on Friday nights, doing puzzles, walking in the March of Dimes and going out to eat with her friends, going on picnics and shopping. She greatly enjoyed setting up her lighted Christmas Village for Christmas. On Thursday morning, April 16, 2009, Lori died at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of fifty years. Lori Ann is survived by her mother, Elaine Nelson of St. James, Minnesota; sister, Cindy Bolte and husband, Rev. Alan Bolte of Alexandria, Minnesota; brothers, Craig Nelson and wife, Kim, of St. James, Minnesota, Mark Nelson and wife, Trish of St. James, Minnesota; two nephews and three nieces, Chris Bolte and fiancée, Tricia of Blue Ash, Ohio, Melissa Hubbard of Seaman, Ohio, David Nelson and wife, Courtney of Springfield, Minnesota, Heather and Michaela Nelson both of St. James, Minnesota; great nephew, Dylan Bolte; great nieces, Alexis, Ashley and Abigail Hubbard; aunts, Lois (Lynn) Bean of Nampa, Idaho and Phyllis (Joe) Wilth of St. James, Minnesota; her roommates at REM, Naomi, LaDonna and Deb; and many friends, co-workers in Fairmont . Lori Ann is preceded in death by her father, Howard on April 4, 2009; niece, Sadie Jo Nelson; grandparents; other relatives and friends. Interment will be in Kansas Lake Lutheran Cemetery in rural Butterfield. Family prefers memorials to Special Olympics or the United Methodist Church in Fairmont.
