| | | Jeannie Lou Phillips was born on August 9, 1928 to Martin and Jessie (Barrett) Phillips in Miller, South Dakota. She attended school in Miller. On September 24, 1946, she was united in marriage to Myron Jahnke at Frost, Minnesota. After their marriage, they lived near Granada, Sherburn, Trimont and Welcome. Jeannie was employed by Stokley Van Camp Canning Company in Fairmont. Along with her family, they did salvage work in the area. She belonged to the Home League from the Salvation Army in Fairmont and assisted at Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center. Jeannie greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing and gardening.
On Saturday evening, July 4, 2009, Jeannie died at Truman Senior Living in Truman, Minnesota at the age of eighty years.
Survivors include her daughters, Marie (Roger) England of Armstrong, Iowa and Mary Rich of Truman, Minnesota; son, Kennth (Linda) Jahnke of Blue Earth, Minnesota; ten grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Jeannie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Myron, son, James Jahnke; daughter, Betty Jahnke and other relatives and friends.
Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont, Minnesota.
