Paul Berger Adamson was born February 4, 1914 to Alfred and Susanna (Goranson ) Adamson in Paton, Webster County, Iowa. He received his education in District #55 in Elm Creek Township. He then farmed for Paul E. Adamson and Perry Swanson in rural Triumph. On August 17, 1940, Paul was united in marriage to Lillian Anderson at Granada, Minnesota. After their marriage he helped farm and then in 1941 was employed at Douglas Aircraft Company in Santa Monica, California. In September 3, 1943 he entered the United States Navy and served until his honorable discharge on December 10, 1945 returning to Douglas Aircraft. In 1947 they moved back to Montery and was employed at Art Erickson’s Garage, Frank Rigenhagen’s Garage and Everett Adamson Ford all in Triumph. Paul then was employed at the Fairmont Railway Motors, Park Motor Company where he drove a parts truck for eighteen years, Higley Ford in Windom, Seitzer Ford in St. Peter where he was parts manager. In 1970 they moved to Trimont where he owned and operated Red’s DX until retiring in 1977. In 1980, Paul and Lillian were divorced. Paul was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Trimont, Minnesota where he served as a Sunday School Teacher, trustee and deacon. He was also a member of the Single Again, OX5 Aviation Pioneers, Experimental Aircraft Association, Martin County Brotherhood, Christian Motorcyclists Association, Christian Motorcyclists Fellowship, Six Seasons Christian Riders, Fairmont and Trimont American Legion. Paul enjoyed flying, hunting, fishing and motorcycling and volunteer lap counter at the V.F.W. Speedway in Jackson for over twenty-five years.

Paul died on Friday morning August 7, 2009 at the VA Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of ninety-five years.

Paul is survived by his daughter, Sandy and her husband, Richard Schulz of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Sandy’s mother Lillian Adamson of Sherburn, Minnesota; granddaughter Jamie and husband, Nathan DeJong of Raymond, Nebraska; grandson, Eric Schulz of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; great-granddaughter, Jayda DeJong of Raymond, Nebraska; brothers, Carl Robert and his wife, Helen Adamson of Sublimity, Oregon and Lester and his wife, Rosie Forstrom of rural Trimont, Minnesota and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred 1917, Susanna Forstrom 1959; son, James Adamson 1976, sister, Ruth Forstrom in 2003, six stepbrothers, six stepsisters and other relatives.
