Program and Tour of Kramer Family Funeral Home to 7th and 8th Grade Catechism Class from St. John's Lutheran Church, Sherburn.
On Wednesday, February 18, 2009, Pastor Steve Wilson and Daryl Hoewisch, Director of Youth and Education from St. John's Lutheran Church, Sherburn, Minnesota brought his class for a tour and program at Kramer Family Funeral Home.
Once there they learned about what a Funeral Director does, how you become a Funeral Director, why you have a funeral, visitation and burial. They also learned about the grieving process and it's stages, such as, denial, anger, bargaining and acceptance.
They received a walking tour of the funeral facilities, the arrangement room, visitation room, selection room where caskets, vaults, cremation urns and vaults are selected. They also saw and learned about the Cremation Ark.
They toured the garage facility where our funeral equipment is stored. They saw our funeral coach or hearse. Then we went for a tour of our preparation room where the embalming and other preparation is done.
When the tour was done, they had learned about what a funeral director does, why we have funerals, why many people are pre-planning their service, grief and the grieving process and information on Cremation.
They were also given a family tree to take home and fill out.
We want to thank Pastor Steve, Daryl, the 7th and 8th Grade Catechism Class and their parents for seeing that they receive this valuable information.
