THE BEST
A sorrow too great to be told,
But to us who loved him and lost him,
His memory will never grow old.
God saw the road was getting rough,
The hills were hard to climb,
He gently closed his eyes & whispered,
“Please be Mine”.
There on the unseen shoreline,
Too far for sight or touch,
But not too far for thoughts to reach,
He stands and waits for us.
A heart of gold stopped beating,
Two tired eyes at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.
