Frances Ella Fouts, Fastle, Hill, Price, was born September 6, 1914 in Fort Morgan, Colorado to Fred and Gladys (Nolte) Fouts, the eldest of four children. She passed away from this life in amazing grace on September 27, 2009 at the West Bridge Care Rehab Center in Winterset, Iowa.
Frances was educated in Saginaw, Michigan through the eighth grade, eventually settling in Earlham, Iowa. In 1938, Frances was united in marriage to Donald Fastle in Earlham, Iowa. To this union, one son was born, Wayne Donald Fastle on November 23, 1939. A very short time later, Donald was killed in a car accident. Soon after, Frances and her young son moved to Earlham and stayed with family while she worked to support them. In 1946, Francis married Frank Hill and they all moved to a farm just Southwest of Earlham. They continued to farm until Frank passed away in 1959. In 1962, Frances married Louis Price and they moved to Des Moines. In 1978 they returned to Earlham upon completion of their new home. Frances and Louis were married 25 years when he passed away in 1987. Frances continued to live in her home in Earlham until her health deteriorated in 1999. Frances was very proud of her son and his family. Her two granddaughters, Susanne Jones and Jeannette Fullerton were the light of her life. Frances was not able to spend a lot of time with her four great-granddaughters, but she enjoyed their visits.
Frances leaves: her son Wayne Fastle and wife Donna of Earlham; granddaughters Susanne Jones and husband Alan of Earlham; Jeannette Fullerton and husband John of Holly Springs, NC; four great-granddaughters: Chelsea, Haley, Taylor and Kayla; sister Helen Ellett of Winterset, Iowa and many cousins.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Gladys Fouts, her brother Delmar Fouts and a sister Margaret Cambell.
