In 2005, Denise went to Pittsburg, PA, for Certified Funeral Celebrant School. A funeral celebrant is a person, who speaks at the funeral, memorial service or cemetery.

Prior to the service, she talks with the family in order to personalize the service and the eulogy.

Denise tailors each service for every family. Denise uses prayers, poems, quotes, and sometimes, Bible passages, for the service. In many of her services, music is quite important, along with special candle lighting ceremonies. A family can choose how much or little religion to have in the service, and how much participation they want in the service.
