Kathryn C. Plansky (Katie), age 93, of Omro, died on Friday, May 20th at Parkview Health Center in Oshkosh, WI.
She was born on August 17, 1917 in Berlin, WI, the daughter of Mary and John J. Krause, and married Roy J. Plansky, of Omro, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Berlin on June 15, 1946.
Katie graduated from Berlin High school and earned her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Wisconsin - Stout in 1939. She taught Home Economics at Omro High School for 2 years then at Berlin High School for the following 8 years.
Katie’s family was her life! She is survived by her husband, Roy; four daughters and one son: Jeanne (Richard) Crone of Delafield, WI; John (Jane Lindsey), of Rochester, MN; Mary (Dean) Glicksman of Monument, CO; Joan (Tim) Brown, Madison, WI and Kathryn (Greg) O’Connor, Sherrard, IL. She is further survived by her brother, John (Lee) Krause, Berlin, WI; sister, Mary Arlene (James-deceased) Wish, Atlantic Beach, FL and 9 grandchildren: Dana and Alex Nicholson, Sherrard, IL; Max, Kevin and Joey Neuzil (triplet grandsons), Monument, CO; Monica and Andrew Crone, Delafield, WI and Stephanie and Alex Brown, Madison, WI. Kathryn was preceded in death by her brother, Max Krause, Palm Springs, CA.
Katie was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Omro, charter member of Omro Service League, hospital volunteer for the American Cancer Society for many years and member of the Winnebago County Retired Teachers Association.
The Plansky family would like to thank the dedicated caregivers that allowed our Mom to stay comfortably in her home until she was 91 years old including Laurie, Tina, Sharron, Mary, Pam, Sandy, Lucy (deceased) and Gail. In addition, we are extremely grateful to the staff at Parkview Health Center for the compassion and wonderful care they provided our Mom for the past two years. It is truly appreciated.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with a service at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A private burial at Omro Cemetery will follow.
