  VIEW/SEND CONDOLENCES

Harland Gordon Tritt, age 84, following an extended illness, passed away peacefully at his home of 60 years on December 1st, surrounded by his loving family. Harland was born March 20, 1927, a son of James, Sr. and Hazel Tritt. He married Carolyn M. Jensen in Omro on July 22, 1949 by Rev. Boyer at the Grace Lutheran Church.

Harland was a fun loving person who had many hobbies: playing hard ball, bowling, shooting pool and coaching softball. On the century old family farm, he had a passion for raising Angus cattle, elk, and horses. However, his family and their countless sporting events were the highlight of his life.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn “Toodie”; children, Gary and his children, Allison, Andrew and Martha and their mother, Rosemary Bloom; Kenneth (Sandra) and their children, Kyle (Kate), Blair (Nicole Hardt) and Tricia; along with their grandchildren, Maddy, Kassie, and Oliver; Teresa “Terri” (Michael) Abraham and their children, Kevin and Amelia; Anthony “Tony” (Teresa) and their children, Dylan, Derek and Brittany; brothers, James, Jr. (Norie) Tritt, Darrell Tritt; sisters, Phyllis (Bernie) Silverthorn, Faye Hoffman (friend Don Harness), Peggy (Eugene) Allen; sister-in-law, Marilyn Tritt; many nieces, nephews; “faithful” neighbors and friends, John and Terri Slocum, Lois Pellinger, Nancy Abraham, Phyllis Davis, Audrey Rolph, Jack Spiegelberg. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister in law, Judy; brothers in law, Clayton Jensen, Art Hoffman and Max Tritt.

The family will greet relative and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 7:00 p.m., with Chaplain Karen Ingvoldstad officiating. Refreshments will be served at the funeral home, following the service. Harland will be laid to rest with a private family graveside service at Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date.

The family would like to share their appreciation which is beyond words to Jeni and the entire dedicated staff of Heartland Hospice for their extraordinary care and endless support.
