Richard Harry Neuschwanger, age 57, of Savanna, Illinois, died Wednesday, June 03, 2009, at the Rockford Memorial Hospital in Rockford, Illinois. A funeral service will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2009, at the Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. prior to the Funeral Service on Saturday at the Funeral Home. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery in Mt. Carroll, Illinois. Memorials may be directed to the family. Richard was born December 22, 1952, in Savanna, Illinois, the son of Harry Christian and Frances Mae (Brudi) Neuschwanger. He is a graduate of the Mt. Carroll High School, Mt. Carroll, Illinois. Richard was a Caretaker and Handyman, he enjoyed mowing lawns for many people. He loved spending as much time as possible outdoors, farming, fishing or riding his four-wheeler. Richard also enjoyed talking with friends and telling stories at the gas station. Richard is survived by his daughter, Rachel (Greg) Lowe of Orlando, Florida; his sister, Diana (Russ) Hansen of Mt. Carroll; two nieces, Elizabeth (Shawn) McMillin and Nia Calbreath; a great niece, Brianna McMillin; and his companion, Peggy Shaw of Savanna. Richard is preceded in death by both parents; a brother, Gary; and a daughter at birth, Charity.
