| | | Jessie M. Mussman, age 96, of Miles, Iowa, died Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at the Jackson County Regional Health Center in Maquoketa, Iowa. A funeral mass will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 15, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Preston, Iowa. Father William Kneemiller of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lost Nation, Iowa will be celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Irenaeus Cemetery in Clinton, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4:00 7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 14, 2009 at the church with a rosary service being held at 7:00 p.m. A memorial fund has been established in Jessies memory.
Jessie was born June 21, 1912, the daughter of Edward and Mary Isiebelle (Dusenberry) Huber in Illinois City, Illinois. Jessie married John Mussman on June 17, 1936 in Clinton, Iowa. John died September 14, 1972, in Clinton.
Jessie was a member of the St. Josephs Catholic Church for several years. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and gardening. Jessie enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.
Jessie will be dearly missed by her four sons, LeRoy (Karen) Mussman of Davenport, Iowa, John (Betty) Mussman of Fort Morgan, Colorado, James (Diana) Mussman of Clinton and Denis (Joy) Mussman of Long Grove, Iowa; two daughters, Bernice Lackas of Miles, Iowa and Katherine (Bernard) Feller of Camanche, Iowa; twenty nine grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Lawrence of DeWitt, Iowa.
Jessie is preceded in death by her husband, John; an infant son, Eugene; four brothers, John, Clarence, Lyman and Robert Huber; and two sisters, Ethel Clifton and Lucille Goodman.
