William Frank Weaks, age 75, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, died on Sunday, July 26, 2009, at the Crestridge Care Center in Maquoketa, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at the Mt. Carroll Church of God. Burial will be in the Leon Cemetery, rural Prophetstown, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at the Frank – Law – Jones Funeral Home in Mt. Carroll. A memorial fund has been established in Frank’s memory. Frank was born on February 20, 1934, in Thomson, Illinois, the son of William Leroy and Louise (North) Weaks. He married Louise P. Stewart on December 24, 1956, at the family farm in Hanover, Illinois. Frank worked as a diesel mechanic for 25 years at Farm Service in Albany, Illinois, and for Herman – Nelson in Morrison, Illinois. Frank enjoyed overhauling tractors and built three homes and two cabins, doing all of the electrical and plumbing work himself. He was a family man first who enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii, Mexico, the Bahamas, and Canada. Frank was a member of the Mt. Carroll Church of God. Frank is survived by his wife Louise Weaks of Mt. Carroll, Illinois; two daughters, Cynthia (Robert) Houzenga of Camanche, Iowa, and Robin Weaks of Mt. Carroll; one son, Ronald (Sharon) Weaks of Fulton, Illinois; one brother, Henry Leroy Weaks of Lyndon, Illinois; five grandchildren, Jeremy, Andrew, Amanda, Tiffany and Damien; two great – grandchildren, Brianna and Joaquin; and several nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Penny Lynn Weaks; and two sisters, Tillie Louise Mulnix and Viola Mae Woodin.
