Emil H. Bredekamp, age 84, of Spragueville, Iowa, died on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque, Iowa Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2009 at the Miller-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Preston, Iowa. Cremation rites will follow, with inurnment to be held at a later date. Memorials may be made in Emil’s name to the North Bend Community Center or Jackson County Historical Society. Emil was born on July 11, 1925, in Spragueville, Iowa, the son of Henry and Louise (Minning) Bredekamp. He attended Fairfield Twp. #3 School. Emil married Margaret Wildfang on March 14, 1953, at Zion Lutheran Church in Clinton, Iowa. Emil was a farmer in rural Spragueville his entire life. He enjoyed reading, square dancing, helping the Jackson County Historical Society and the North Bend Community Center. He especially enjoyed visiting with family and friends about current events and agriculture. Emil is survived by his wife Margaret Bredekamp of Spragueville; his children, Richard Bredekamp of Spragueville, Iowa, Brian (Deb) Bredekekamp of Spragueville, Caroline Bredekamp of Spragueville, and Kenny Bredekamp of Spragueville; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and many cousins.
