Beatrice M. Tebbetts, age 74, of Elizabeth, Illinois, died on Monday, September 21, 2009, at the Elizabeth Nursing Home in Elizabeth. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2009, at the Church of St. Mary in Elizabeth, with Father Noel Jacob as celebrant. Visitation will be held from 4 - 8 p.m. on Friday, September 25, at the Law - Jones Funeral Home in Elizabeth.
Beatrice was born on October 24, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Henry and Anne (Viau) Smith. She married George Tebbetts on December 27, 1952, in Chicago.
Beatrice was a homemaker and also worked for an optometrist in Berwyn, Illinois, for ten years. She was a member of the Church of St. Mary’s in Elizabeth, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary. Beatrice was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards, and especially talking and laughing with friends and family.
Beatrice is survived by her husband George Tebbetts of Elizabeth, Illinois; three daughters, Donna (Tim) Aikens of Downers Grove, Illinois, Marie (Robert) Chorak of Galena, Illinois, and Jean (Michael) Alore of Downers Grove; two sons, James Tebbetts of Elmwood Park, Illinois, and John (Susan) Tebbetts of Gurnee, Illinois; and thirteen grandchildren, Sara Aikens, Robert Aikens, Maggie Aikens, Breanna Tebbetts, Jimmy Tebbetts, Alex Chorak, Lizzie Chorak, Anne Tebbetts, George Tebbetts, Christina Tebbetts, Kristen Alore, Kari Alore, and Ashley Alore.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and one sister.
