Helen Martha Roggatz, age 84, of Mt. Carroll, died Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Carroll County Good Samaritan Center, Mt. Carroll, Illinois. Helen was born May 22, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Anthony and Martha (Ludtka) Szymaniak.  She is a graduate of Tuley High School.   In her life, Helen was a homemaker, waitress and seller of home products.  On September 21, 1946, Helen married Harold Edmund Roggatz in Chicago, Illinois.   Harold died on February 23, 2005 in Mt. Carroll, Illinois. 
Helen enjoyed sewing, cooking and singing.  In earlier years, she loved rollerskating.  Most important to Helen was the time she spent with her family.
Helen will be dearly missed by three daughters, Luanne (Tim) Burke of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, Lorna (Roger) May of Mt. Carroll and Pam (Nick) Naples of Mt. Carroll; her son, Rick of Mt. Carroll; nine grandchildren, Marty, Valerie, Jocelyn, Dan, Amy, Amanda, Chris, Eric, and Rob; a sister, Adeline Kozak of Chicago, Illinois.
Helen is preceded in death by both parents; her husband Harold; an infant daughter, Evelyn; and a sister, Florence Burke.
