NANCY CAROLINE ALLEN CHAMBERS
NANCY CAROLINE ALLEN, was born April 3, 1934 in Seattle, Washington, the only child of Weir Allen and Eugenia Baker Allen, both deceased.
Nancy earned her PhD in Psychology at Peabody College in Nashville, Tennessee, where she met her future husband, John, as he was earning his PhD in Pharmacology at nearby Vanderbilt University. In addition to Nancy seeing patients in her practice, both she and her husband taught at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine until her retirement.
Nancy passed away peacefully in her sleep early in the morning of Wednesday, October 28, 2009 after a long illness. She is survived by her husband, John, and their two sons and their wives, Michael and his wife Leah and Matthew and his wife Maggie; and nine grandchildren; Amanda, Heather, Cathy, John Christopher, Samantha, Erin, Maria, and Sarah.
Mrs. Chambers request for cremation was honored. A memorial service will be held at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine’s Alumni Center on December 5, 2009.
