| Rensselaer-John M. Baxter, Jr., age, 60 years, of Rensselaer passed away Sunday November 16, 2008 at New England Medical Center in Boston. He was born in Albany and has been a resident of Rensselaer for the past 56 years. John was a graduate of St. John’s Academy in Rensselaer and HVCC. He was employed for 37 years by the New York State Dept. of Labor as a computer programmer. He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist and St. Joseph Church attending St. John’s Church for many years. He enjoyed camping, bowling in the NYS Dept. of Labor League and was a humble and gentle soul to all those who knew him.
Beloved husband of 32 years to Donna Zobre Baxter of Rensselaer; adoring father of Shaun Baxter of East Greenbush and Jessica Eichmann of Rensselaer. Son of the late John and Evelyn Baxter; brother of the late Mariane Baxter. He was a beloved uncle of 22 nieces and nephews, 4 great nieces and nephews and brother-in-law the Zobre’s and extended families. Funeral will be from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer Thursday morning at 9:30 and 10:30 at St. John’s Church Herrick Street Rensselaer, where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-8 PM. Interment will be in New Rural Cemetery East Greenbush. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Liver Transplant Fund at Tufts University Hospital 800 Washington Street P.O. Box 40 Boston, MA 02111. | ||
