Funeral services for Julie Ann Buckley will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2008, at the Alva First Baptist Church with Dr. Greg Hook officiating. Interment will be in the Short Springs Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva. There will be a time of visitation with the family at Marshall Funeral Home on Thursday, May 1, 2008, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Julie Ann Buckley, daughter of the late Harvey M. and Velma (Cantrell) Browning, was born June 28, 1950, at Winslow, Arizona, and passed away April 29, 2008, at Alva, Oklahoma, at the age of 57 years, 10 months, and 1 day.

Julie graduated from Alva High School and received degrees in Home Economics and Social Work from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. On September 2, 1972, she was united in marriage to Leroy Buckley at Alva. She lived most of her life in the Alva - Waynoka area. She had been employed at Wal-Mart as a cashier for over 20 years.

She was a member of the Alva First Baptist Church and the Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and watching OU football. Her grandchildren were very important to her and she enjoyed watching them dance and play sports.

Julie is survived by two daughters, Heather Golbek and her husband, Steven, of Alva, and Rebecca Buckley of Alva; one brother, Mike Browning of Alva; and two grandchildren, Logan Buckley and Madison Buckley; other relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home for funeral expenses or a fund for her grandchildren.
