Benjamin Edward Bebermeyer, Jr., son of the late Benjamin Edward and Anna Caroline (Knipmeyer) Bebermeyer, was born November 22, 1923, on a farm north of Warrenton, Missouri, and went to be with his Lord January 14, 2005, at Enid, Oklahoma.

Ben attended Greenville Bible College and Asbury Methodist College and was ordained into the ministry in 1951. On June 11, 1948, he was united in marriage to Maxine Bottenberg in Kansas City, Missouri, and to this marriage four children were born: Roxine, Pam, Terry, and Gary. He pastored for 23 years throughout Missouri and Oklahoma, including pastoring at the Hopeton Wesleyan Church for 13 years. After his retirement from the pastoring, he and the Peacemakers, a gospel group consisting of his children and a friend, Sheri Bushman, ministered through evangelism throughout the midwest states.

Ben was a general agent of Old American Insurance for over 20 years, served on the Presidential Cabinet, and served as president of the Honorary Field Force Council for the company. He was a lifetime member of the Full Gospel Business Men?s Fellowship International and served as president and honorary charter member of the local chapter. For many years he was active in the Alva Rotary Club and served as president from 1989-1990. He was also a Fellow of the NWOSU Foundation.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Gary Bebermeyer; one infant brother, Edgar; and two sisters, Emaline Graf and Mary Jane Webb.

Ben is survived by his wife, Maxine, of Alva; one son, Terry Bebermeyer and his wife, Lori, of Hillsboro, Kansas; two daughters, Roxine Bushman and her husband, Dwight, of Wakita, and Pam Humphrey and her husband, Kim, of Jet; one brother, Calvin Bebermeyer of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sisters, Margaret Vahle and her husband, Florence, of Warrenton, Missouri, and Verneda Schloeman and her husband, Bill, of Warrenton, Missouri.

Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, Brandon Bushman of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Shayna Bushman of Phoenix, Arizona, Kammie Humphrey of Alva, Kendall Hadsell and her husband, Bradlee, of Tulsa, Kody Humphrey of Alva, Adrien Bebermeyer, Emily Bebermeyer, Chelsea Bebermeyer, and Benjamin Bebermeyer, all of Hillsboro, Kansas, and Garrett Bebermeyer, and Clay Bebermeyer, both of Alva; one great grandson, Alexander Benjamin Hadsell of Tulsa; one daughter-in-law, Becky Bebermeyer, of Alva; three step grandchildren, Cassie, Michele and Amanda Harmon of Alva; one brother-in-law, Florence Graf; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

There will be a visitation with the family at Marshall Funeral Home from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, December 16, 2005. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2005, at the Hopeton Wesleyan Church with Pastor Marion Hadsell and Rev. Kammie Humphrey officiating. Interment will be in the Alva Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Hopeton Wesleyan Church.
