| | | Goldie Blanche Bay, daughter of the late Frank James and Minnie Sue (Murrow) Camp, was born on a farm southeast of Waynoka, Oklahoma on May 15, 1911, and passed away at King’s Manor Methodist Home in Hereford, Texas on April 9, 2005 at the age of 93 years, 10 months and 24 days.
Goldie attended Walnut Grove Elementary School and later attended Waynoka High School. On August 14, 1929 she was united in marriage to Orley W. Bay at Carmen, Oklahoma. To this union three children were born, Jerry, Patsy, and Nadene.
They made their home in Waynoka for many years. After her husband passed away, Goldie later moved to Hereford, Texas where she made her home for the past three years. Goldie was a member of the Woods County Extension Club and the Atheneum Club. She also was a member of the Elm and Murrow Church of Christ. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and crafting. In her younger years she played softball and also coached a softball team for Kid’s Inc.
Besides her parents and her husband, Goldie was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters, Homer Camp, Harlo Camp, Neva Camp, Pearl Morris, and Carrie Barker. She was also preceded by an infant granddaughter, Jennifer Bay.
Goldie is survived by one son, Jerry Bay and his wife, Joyce, of Luther, Oklahoma; two daughters, Patsy Martin of Clovis, New Mexico, and Nadene Seaman and her husband, Hoot, of Amarillo, Texas; one sister, Verda Haltom of Vinita, Oklahoma.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Patsy Wiggins and her husband, Don, of Spring Lake, North Carolina, Kay Gerdts and her husband, David, of Triangle, Virginia, Debra Crosley and her husband, Alan, Faron Seaman, Donna Childress and her husband, Draton, Ferlin Seaman and his wife, Susi, all of Amarillo, Texas, Denise Patrick and her husband, Rob, of Campo, Colorado, Brett Justice, and Jerilyn Young and her husband, Jim, of Mullinville, Kansas; nineteen great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Tipton Children’s Home.
