| | | Hattie Maxine Conn, daughter of the late Joseph and Gladys (Phillips) Province, was born December 18, 1918, north of Freedom, Oklahoma and passed away November 17, 2005, at Buffalo, Oklahoma, at the age of 86 years, 10 months, and 29 days.
Maxine attended Red Hill School. She married Dwight Garold Conn September 27, 1935 at Alva, Oklahoma. They made their home near Freedom where they lived most of their lives. To this union two children were born, Naomi Faye and Garold Max.
She was an avid fisherman, enjoyed crocheting, and loved cooking for her family and friends. She was once offered $50 for a dozen of her delicious cinnamon rolls.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Dwight Conn; one brother, Bud Province; and two sisters, Mildred Province and Thelma Morland.
Maxine is survived by one son, Garold Max Conn, of Oktaha, Oklahoma, one daughter, Naomi Faye Noblitt and her husband, Donald, of Freedom; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Conn, of Stockton, Kansas; and a brother-in-law, Marvin Conn and his wife, Lucille, of Little Rock, Arkansas.
She is also survived by six grandchildren, Kelli Noble of Oktaha, Oklahoma, Mike Bowker of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Garold Noblitt and his wife, Joan, of Casper Wyoming, Stan Noblitt and his wife, Vanya, of Luana, Angola, Mike Noblitt and his wife, Karen, of Chandler, Arizona, Dirk Noblitt and his wife, Debbie, of Modesto, California; 12 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; many loving cousins, special neices and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2005, at the United Methodist Church in Freedom with Reverend Carolyn Murrow officiating. Interment will be in the Freedom Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Freedom Ambulance.
