| | | Audrey Helen Peery Case, 92, daughter of the late David and Nettie Pearl (Estes) Peery, was born April 22, 1913, in Marietta, Oklahoma and died November 28, 2005, in Liberal, Kansas.
Audrey grew up around the Marietta area and graduated from Marietta High School. On January 21, 1933, she married James Beverly Case in Wewoka, Oklahoma.
Audrey and James made their home and raised their children in the south Oklahoma communities of Seminole and New Lima. Audrey worked in a dry good store in Seminole, where the couple later purchased and ran a grocery store. They lived in Seminole for 25 years.
The couple had four children, Shirley Ann, Carolyn Pearl, David Beverly and James Arthur.
In 1959, James and Audrey moved to Waynoka so James could continue working as a pumper for the Texaco Company. He retired in 1973.
James died in the Waynoka Nursing Home on February 8, 1992, at the age of 81. Audrey continued to make her home in Waynoka until moving to Liberal, Kansas, to live with her daughter, Shirley, in 2000.
In January 2005, Audrey went to live in the Good Samaritan Nursing Center, Special Care Unit, in Liberal.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James B. Case, her youngest son; James A. Case; a brother, Woodrow Peery; a sister, Madaline Parker; and a grandson, David Keith Case.
She is survived by three children and their spouses, Shirley and Archie Farrand of Liberal, Kansas, Carolyn and Earl Campbell of Madill, Oklahoma, David and Saundra Case of Round Rock, Texas, one daughter-in-law, Lorraine Robinson Case of Waynoka, 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2005, in the Marshall Funeral Home Chapel, Alva, Oklahoma with Audrey’s grandson, Reverend Tim Crowe, pastor First Christian Church of Bastrop, Texas officiating. Interment will be at the Waynoka Municipal Cemetery. She will lay in state at the Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.
