Naomi Laverne Hutchison Callaway was born in 1912 in Woods County, Oklahoma to William and Rosa Keene Hutchison. Naomi attended schools in the country and in Enid, finishing with high school in Alva, Oklahoma.

In 1931 she married James G. Callaway and to this union four children were born. Mary Lynn, J.D., Naomi Kay and Yvetta Lea. Naomi and Jim lived north of Quinlan, Oklahoma where they were engaged in farming and ranching. Naomi was very active in her church and extension clubs and as most women of her day cooked for many hands.

In 1952 the family moved to Presho, South Dakota where they farmed, ranched and operated a restaurant until 1963 when they moved to Arizona for Jim’s health. They traveled back and forth between South Dakota and Arizona until 1983 when they moved to Arizona permanently. Naomi was such a glowing inspiration to her children and grandchildren and carried her beauty with her to the nursing home where she passed away on April 6, 2006.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Rosa Hutchison; her husband, James Callaway; her daughter, Mary Lynn Hula; her son-in-law, Ron Boe; two great granddaughters, Darcie Boe and Kadee Iverson, seven brothers, Warren, Bill, Frank, Alfred, Melvin, Glenn, and Norvel; and four sisters, Etta Blankenship, Roberta Mattie Armour, Leona Moore, and an infant sister.

Naomi leaves to mourn her passing and celebrate her life, son & daughter in Law, J.D. & Kay Callaway of Brookshire, Texas, daughter, Naomi Kay Boe of Fort Pierre, South Dakota, daughter & son-in-law, Yvetta and Keith Iverson of Wickenburg, Arizona, son-in-law, Joseph Hula, Jr. of Wickenburg, Arizona; 10 grandchildren, Darrell Hintz, John Glenn Hula, Steven Boe, Seversen Boe, Sheri Grimsgaard, Jamie Skladzien, Ann Dee Pencik, Kerri Iverson, Carol Martin and Curtis Iverson; 22 great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 14, 2006, at the Waynoka First United Methodist Church with Pastor Marvin Stuckey officiating. Interment will be in the Waynoka Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Waynoka.
