| | | Marthan Brennon, daughter of the late Abraham L. and Eva Mae (Hughes) Brennon, was born April 4, 1930, at Woodward, Oklahoma, and passed away November 23, 2006, at Integris Bass Baptist Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma, at the age of 76 years, 7 months, and 19 days.
Martha attended Freedom High School. On January 5, 1948, she was united in marriage to Edward Junior Carroll, at Woodward, Oklahoma. To this union four children were born: Norita Mae, Silas Calvin, Carmen Clarice, and Carol Ann. They made their home in Waynoka, Oklahoma and were married over fifty years.
She enjoyed gardening and her flowers, making quilts and loved going to auctions. She was loved by her family very much.
Besides her parents and her husband, Ed, she was preceded in death by her son, Silas and one sister, Maxine Cheek.
Martha is survived by three daughters, Norita Barkley of Lamont, Oklahoma, Carmen Simpson and her husband, Jessie, of Ringwood, Oklahoma, and Carol Burton and her husband, Robert, of Enid, Oklahoma; two brothers, Ellis Harry Brennon, of Arizona and Al Brennon, Erie, Kansas; three sisters, Elsie Wiley of Denton, Texas, Pearl Lynes of Harmon, Oklahoma, and Dora Lou Wilson, of Arizona; eight grandchildren, Edward J. Simpson, Raymond E. Barkley, Martha Ann Simpson, Jerod Albert Barkley, Flecia Anna Burton, Jessie Hayden Simpson, Ronald Silas Burton, and Loni Leslie Burton; ten great grandchildren, Zackery Simpson, Alyssa Barkley, Christopher Simpson, Wyatt Barkley, Vikki and Logan Barkley, Hunter Barkley, Julia Barkley, Michael Dobbs, and Heston Hernandez; other relatives and many friends.
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2006, at the Memorial Hill Cemetery with Reverend David Shaw officiating. Interment will be under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Waynoka, LLC.
The casket will remain closed.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Waynoka E. M. T’s or the American Cancer Society.
