| | | Graveside services for Mildred Helen Benson will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2009, at the Waynoka Municipal Cemetery with her nephew, Rev. Don Boren, officiating. Interment is under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Waynoka, LLC. The family will be at the funeral home from 10:00 to 12:00 a.m. Monday for those who wish to visit with them.
Mildred Helen Benson, daughter of the late William (Bill) and Cora Corbin Crusinbery, was born July 15, 1928, near Waynoka, Oklahoma, and went to be with Jesus on Friday, April 17, 2009.
She attended school at Twin Oak Elementary School and Waynoka High School, and later obtained a GED in Farmington, New Mexico. On March 18, 1955, she was united in marriage to Everett Benson in Aztec, New Mexico and lived in New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, Utah and Oklahoma.
Mildred worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Alva, Oklahoma and Mountain State Telephone Company in Artesia and Farmington, New Mexico. She retired from El Paso Natural Gas Company in Farmington, New Mexico in 1982.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Marjorie Hadley.
She is survived by her husband, Everett, Webb City, Missouri; son and daughter-in-law, Everett Jr. and Sharon, of Joplin; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Corey, Leah, Ethan, Kaylee, and Kasen Scott, all of Springfield, Missouri; Robbie, Jody, Avery and Anna Benson, all of North Africa; siblings: Clara May Boren of Booker, Texas, Gladys Snyder of Enid, Oklahoma, Dorothy Ashton of Aline, Oklahoma, Glen Crusinbery and wife, Jacque, of Waynoka, Oklahoma, and Oleta Rodgers of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Memorial gifts may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation or to charity of choice.
