| | | Funeral services for Jimmie Lee Pittman, will be 10:00am Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at the Marshall Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bob Brown, pastor of the Alva Church of God officiating. Interment will be in the Alva Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.
Jimmie Lee Pittman, son of the late Bobby Lee and Geraldine Maxine (Brown) Pittman , was born November 24, 1947, in Alva, Oklahoma, and passed away May 22, 2009, in Alva, Oklahoma, at the age of 61 years, 5 months, and 28 days.
Jimmie attended school in Alva through the 4th grade and graduated from high school in Independence, Missouri. He served in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1969. Following his military service he worked for Mack Truck and the Kansas City Southern Railroad. On August 7, 1974, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Louise Halphin at Independence, Missouri. For 27 years until his retirement he worked as a Maintenance Engineer for Bayer Chemical in Kansas City. After his retirement in 2002, he returned to Alva.
He was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He enjoyed gardening and hunting, but he really loved fishing and tending his acreage west of Alva.
Jimmie is survived by one daughter, Angela Michelle Pittman of Marshall, Missouri; one brother, Stanley Pittman of Frisco, Texas; four grandchildren, Zachary, Alexi, Collin, and Brandon; other relatives and many friends.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the National Rifle Association.
