Funeral services for Luella Morgan will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at the Alva Church of God with Pastor Bob Brown officiating. Interment will be in the Alva Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.

Luella Morgan, daughter of the late Theodore and Laura (Jones) Dunnigan, was born February 1, 1916, at Springfield, Missouri, and passed away June 6, 2009, at Yukon, Oklahoma at the age of 93 years, 4 months, and 5 days.

Luella attended school at Horace Mann in Alva. On January 23, 1935, she was united in marriage to Roy Edgar Morgan in Enid Oklahoma. They lived on the farm northwest of Alva most of her life. She worked as a nurses aide.

She was a lifetime member of the Church of God and her passion was serving the Lord. She worked hard, cleaning houses and making pies for all of the restaurants in Alva. She loved her cats.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Dunnigan and Clifton Dunnigan; two sisters, Mary Trekell and Wilma Kranz Toole; one grandson, Wayne Morgan; one great grandson, Cory Cauthen; and two sons-in-law, Harley Hale and Cecil Strange.

Luella is survived by one son, Carl Morgan and wife, Lois, of Tuttle; one daughter, JoAnn Hale Strange of Yukon, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Rita Hamner and husband, Terry, of Yukon, Kathy Johnson and husband, Bill, of Montgomery, Alabama, Susan Cauthen and husband, Allen, of Jackson, Mississippi, Charla Cole and husband, Sgt. Major Bruce Cole, of Oceanside, California, Carla McKinzie and husband, Bob, of Memphis, Tennessee; and Alan Morgan and wife, Sherri, of Clinton, Oklahoma; 19 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Alva Church of God.
