| | | Irma was born December 28, 1909, on a farm north of Danville, Kansas, to Henry and Margaret (Howell) Borges and died Friday, June 26, 2009, at Beadles Nursing Home in Alva. She attended grade school at Danville and high school at Harper, Kansas where she moved with her parents in 1925.
On September 25, 1926, she and Vernon M. Henderson were married at Anthony, Kansas, and moved to Paoli, Colorado. To this union two children were born: Neal Cleon in 1927 and Rosalie Rae in 1929. They moved back to Kansas in the spring of 1928 and in 1929 they moved to Alva, Oklahoma.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alva and held several offices through the years. Irma worked at the Warrick Shoe Store over 23 years. After retiring, she worked as a volunteer at Share Memorial Hospital for several years.
Surviving are one son, Neal Henderson of Alva, one daughter, Rosalie Lehr and her husband, Robert, of Norman, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 25 great great grandchildren; 3 great great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Vernon, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one daughter-in-law.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the First Baptist Church.
