Funeral services for Margaret Windecker will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at the Waynoka Church of God with Rev. Charles Newton and Rev. Mike Paddy officiating. Interment will be in the Waynoka Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Waynoka, LLC.

Margaret Windecker, daughter of the late Joe and Stella (Icke) Neff, was born August 16, 1920, while her family was en route to Taos, at Selman, Oklahoma, and passed away July 11, 2009, at the Waynoka Nursing Center at the age of 88 years, 10 months, and 27 days.

Margaret traveled from Taos, New Mexico to the Waynoka area with her sisters, Bessie and Stella (Dolly), brother, Dwight, and father at the age of four years after the death of her mother. She lived in and around Waynoka where she met and married Dave Windecker on August 2, 1937. They resided in the Waynoka area until they moved to Salem, Oregon in 1947. The moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1958, and back to Waynoka in 1967. She worked at the E. P. Clapper Memorial Hospital for many years and for Marshall Funeral Home for 35 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Windecker; one son, Billy; one daughter, Joyce Wright; an infant son; two sisters; and two brothers.

Margaret is survived by one son, Terry Windecker of Eagle River, Alaska; one daughter, Alice Perkins and husband, Nelson, of Weatherford, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Waynoka Nursing Center Activity Fund.
