Funeral services for Mabel C. Keffer will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at the Northside Church of Christ with Rodney Guy officiating. Interment will be in the Waynoka Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Waynoka, LLC.

Mabel C.Keffer, daughter of the late Charles S.and Maggie A. (Robinson) Brinson, was born March 17, 1920, in Missouri, and passed away July 26, 2009, at Share Medical Center, Alva, Oklahoma, at the age of 89 years, 4 months, and 9 days.

Mabel grew up and attended school in Missouri before moving to Waynoka and attending school. On October 26, 1938, she was united in marriage to Albert "Bud" Zook at Alva. She later married Ralph Keffer on January 17, 1976, at Alva. She lived her entire adult life in Waynoka.

She was an active member of the Northside Church of Christ and was also a member of the Willing Workers Extension Club and the Walnut Grove monthly community activities. Mabel enjoyed quilting, sewing, watching the hummingbirds that she fed, and her flower garden.

Besides her parents, and husbands, Albert "Bud" and Ralph, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gary Stover; a sister, Zelma Buckingham; and three brothers, Paul Brinson, Clyde Brinson, and Lloyd Brinson.

Mabel is survived by one daughter, Wanda Haney and husband, Earnest, of Alva; two foster daughters, Opal Yeager and husband, Johnny, of Mayhill, New Mexico, and Phyllis King and husband, Dorven, of Portales, New Mexico; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to throught the funeral home to Northside Church of Christ.
