| | | Gary Leroy “Whitey” Murrow, son of Colleen Murrow Hawkins and the late Max Laverne Murrow, was born June 1, 1950, at Waynoka, Oklahoma, and passed away August 3, 2009, northwest of Waynoka, at the age of 59 years, 2 months, and 2 days.
Gary graduated from Waynoka High School with the Class of 1968 and attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University. On January 6, 1971, he was united in marriage to Regina Kay Stephens at Waynoka. They lived in and around Waynoka and Freedom where he was a rancher.
He attended the Baptist Church. He enjoyed riding bulls, working with bulls, hunting, fishing, and hunting rattlesnakes. He really loved being around his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Gary is survived by two sons, Trent Murrow and wife, Renae, of Waynoka, and Travis Murrow of Freedom; his mother, Colleen Hawkins of Cherokee; his brother, Doug Murrow and wife, Javonna, of Cherokee; seven grandchildren, Trevor and Rachel Cunningham of Stillwater, Joshua and Sara Cunningham of Waynoka, Zachery Smith of Vian, Garrett Murrow of Arnett, Stetson Murrow of Perry, Wacey Murrow of Arnett, and Bandi Murrow of Arnett; three great grandchildren, Ayden, Alyvia, and River Cunningham; other relatives and many friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
