| | | Funeral services for Charlotte Deana Burson will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2009, at the Waynoka First United Methodist Church with Rev. Marvin Stuckey officiating. Interment will be in the Waynoka Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Waynoka, LLC.
Charlotte Deana Washburn, daughter of the late Lester and Mary (Wilmot) Washburn, was born June 11, 1926, at Quinlan, Oklahoma, and went to be with the Lord on September 29, 2009, at the age of 83 years, 3 months, and 18 days.
Charlotte graduated from the Quinlan High School in 1944. She married Taylor Miller in 1944 and to this union was born two children, Karen Hulsey Mooney and Arlin Miller. She attended Beaches Beauty College in Enid in 1956 and was a beautician in Buffalo and Waynoka for 22 years.
In 1966, she married James Burson and they made their home in Iraan, Texas, for 13 years and was one of the founding members of Faith Fellowship Church. Charlotte was the organist and pianist at the Methodist Church in Waynoka for many years.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Arlin and Karen; and three brothers.
She is survived by a grandson, Dr. Greg Hulsey and wife, Darcy, of Oklahoma City; her granddaughter, Alexis Ann Benson and husband, John, of Houston, Texas; her great-grandchildren, Jack Hulsey and Laney Benson; her stepson James A. Burson and wife, Maggie, of Gilbert, Texas, and their sons Wayne and Wade; their children; many other relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Waynoka First United Methodist Church.
