Graveside services for Charles Harry Peterman will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2011, at the Alva Municipal Cemetery with Rev. Mark McDonald officiating. Interment is under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.

Charles Harry Peterman, son of the late Harry Carl and Vivian (Depue) Peterman, was born May 16, 1925, in Alva, Oklahoma, and passed away November 3, 2011, at Alva, Oklahoma, at the age of 86 years, 5 months, and 17 days.

Charlie attended rural school southwest of Alva and graduated from Alva High School and Northwestern State College. He served in the United States Army where he served as a radar crewman in the Pacific Theater. On August 7, 1948, he was united in marriage to Nancy Ruth Farris at Alva.

He worked as an aerospace engineer with General Dynamics in Ft. Worth, Texas, and Mitsubishi Aircraft in San Angelo, Texas. After his retirement in 1977, he returned to Alva where he farmed. He enjoyed farming and woodworking.

Besides his parents, he was preceded by his wife, Nancy, and his son-in-law, Lawrence Anderson.

Charlie is survived by two daughters, Kitchele Montgomery and husband, Tom, of Midlothian, Texas and Kimberele Anderson of Irving, Texas; one son, Kirk Peterman and wife, Jolene, of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren, John Montgomery of Midlothian, Leanne Littlefield and husband, Chad, of Midlothian, Heather Peterman of Morris, Illinois, Joshua Peterman of West Lafayette, Indiana, Marc Anderson of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Matt Anderson of Irving, Texas; five great grandchildren, Halee Grace Montgomery, Hayden Montgomery, Morgan Littlefield, Jake Anderson-Dettmann and Evan Anderson-Dettmann; other relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Alva Senior Citizens or the NWOSU Foundation.
