Charles William McConnell
C.W. “Bill”
C. W. "Bill" McConnell, age 80, of Bourne St., Westfield, NY, died Friday, September 10, 2004 at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie, Pennsylvania, following an unexpected illness.
He was born January 19, 1924 in Erie, Pennsylvania the son of the late Edward and Irene (Cady) McConnell.
A Westfield area resident since the 1980's he formerly resided in Erie, PA, Ripley and Brocton, NY, as well as San Mateo, California . He had been self employed as a Contractor and Real Estate Agent, as well as in Auto sales and Insurance sales.
He was a WWII Veteran of the US Army having served in Company A, 69th Signal Battalion in Normandy, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He was a member of the William P. Jackway VFW Post 6764 of Westfield and the Westfield Fish and Game Club, and enjoyed all of the outdoors including Hunting and Fishing and his dogs.
Survivors include his daughter; Maureen A. Gustafson of Erie, PA,
his 4 sons; Edward James "Jim" McConnell of Tionesta, PA, Timothy R. "Tim" McConnell , Terrence J. "Terry" McConnell, and Thomas J. "Tom" McConnell all of Erie, PA, as well as18 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.
Also survived by his 2 brothers; Richard "Rich" McConnell of Newbern, NC, and John McConnell of Ashtabula, OH.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward James McConnell, and his mother, Irene (Cady) McConnell, and his son Patrick Mark McConnell .
Visitation will be at MASON Funeral Home on Sunday from 5-8 PM
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 13, 2004 at 3:00 P.M. at MASON Funeral Home. Rev. James M. "Mic" McGinnis of Trinity United Methodist Church of Erie will be officiating. Burial will be in the Mayville Cemetery in Mayville, NY.
