Russell VandeVelde, Jr.
"Rusty"


Russell VandeVelde, Jr., "Rusty", age 47, of Steamboat Springs, CO, formerly of Westfield, NY died Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at in Denver, Colorado, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on his way home from a business trip.

He was born November 09, 1956 in Westfield, New York the son of Russell and Jennie (Riscili) VandeVelde of Westfield.

A 1974 graduate of Westfield Academy and Central School, he graduated from SUNY Fredonia with a degree in Chemistry and had been President of ACZ Labs in Steamboat Springs before accepting his current position so he could spend more time with his family.
He was currently Executive Sales Manager for Teledyne-Leeman Labs of Colorado. He was a member of several Professional Associations within his industry. Rusty enjoyed the outdoors with particular interests in golf, sailing and skiing.
He was an accomplished woodworker.
More than anything, he loved and enjoyed his family and his friends. He adored his wife and children.

Besides his parents, survivors include his wife of 17 years
Terry (Byrd) VandeVelde of Steamboat Springs, CO, his children; John, Nikki and Elaina VandeVelde at home, his 3 brothers; Thomas, Carl and Michael VandeVelde all of Westfield, NY

He was preceded in death by his sister Carla VandeVelde and his niece Jennie VandeVelde.

Visitation will be at MASON Funeral Home on Monday October 18, 2004
from 5-9 PM

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. at St. James Major Roman Catholic Church, 15 Union St., Westfield, NY
Fr. Daniel Young of St. James Major RC Church will be officiating.
Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery in Westfield.
