Marvin C. Wilson



Marvin Cook Wilson, age 77, of Edgewater Dr., Westfield, NY, died November 13, 2004 at Westfield Memorial Hospital in Westfield, New York.

Born in Jamestown, NY on July 6, 1927 a son of the late Marvin Cook and Edith Priest Wilson who were decendents of early settlers in Chautauqua County. He was a graduate of Jamestown High School in 1945 and Washington and Jefferson College in 1949 and was a veteran of the US Navy serving in WW II from 1945-1948.

Marvin was an industrial salesman for Bowman Products of Jamestown and Custom Engineering of Erie, PA. He grew up on Chautauqua Lake and loved boating and fishing and was an outstanding golfer and lover of the outdoors. In later years he enjoyed refinishing furniture. Marvin held memberships in the Sportsman Club, Lakeview Country Club of North East, PA and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Society of Westfield where he served on various church committees. he and his wife Betty Anne were the owners of the Westfield House Bed and Breakfast for thirteen years.

Survivors include his wife;
Betty (Pilkey) Wilson of Westfield, NY, who he married on August 18, 1950 in Jamestown, NY.
His daughter and her husband Jane W. and Dan Tinney of Miami, FL, His son and daughter in law; Charles C. and Carol Wilson of Spring, TX, his grandchildren; Cristine Green , Allison Tinney, Morgan Tinney, Brian Tinney, and his great grandson Samuel Green

He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Cook Wilson, and his mother, Edith (Priest) Wilson, nad by his 3 brothers; Robert , John , and David Wilson.

Visitation will not be observed

A Memorial will be observed during the Worship service held on Sunday, November 28, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at First Presbyterian Church and Society of Westfield. A reception will follow in the church'c Fellowship Hall. Private committal services will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2004 in Jamestown.
