George V. Orlando
George V. Orlando, 76, of Clinton Street, Westfield, NY, for Century 21 / Remax, died Saturday, February 05, 2005 at Westfield Memorial Hospital in Westfield, New York.
He was born July 21, 1928 in Westfield, New York the son of the late Salvatore and Angeline (Misserentino) Orlando.
Born and raised in Westfield, George was active in the family business, Westfield Dairy, a business that he loved. He resided in Westfield until the age of 23, when he embarked on a sucsessful career in sales that took him all across the US from New York to California, to Florida and then back to Westfield to retire. While in Dayton Ohio early in his life, he met and married his wife who resided in Dayton, OH. He sold, Installed and serviced Commercial Laundry Equipment and Dry Cleaning Equipment, Heavy equipment and Cement Trucks. He settled in Wellington, Florida into a sucessfull career with Remax and Century 21 Real Estate Companys. He ws a member of the One Million Dollar Sellers Club with Century 21. While in California, he attended Business College and recieved his degree. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan since the 1960's and came to personally know many of the players of the 60's. He was a lover of trains, model and full scale and was afforded a ride from Westfield to Cleveland and back onboard a locamotive. he enjoyed JigSaw Puzzles, gardening, and the outdoors. His love for cooking made him know as an accomplished chef.
He was a member fo St. James Major RC church and was a Veteran of the US Army. Mr. Orlando lived in Westfield, New York for and was previously from .
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Evelyn Fletcher Orlando of Westfield, NY, his 3 sons; Mark V. Orlando of Baton Rouge, LA, David G. Orlando of Evergreen, CO, George T. Orlando of Westfield, NY, his 2 daughters; Julie M. Robino of Scottsdale, AZ, and Beth A. Orlando of Westfield, NY, his 10 Grandchildren as well as his 2 sisters; Ann McCarville of Tega Cay, SC, Grace LiSacchi of Claremont, CA
He was preceded in death by his father, Salvatore Orlando, and his mother, Angeline (Misserentino) Orlando, his 4 brothers; Anthony "Ack" Orlando , Salvatore "Diz" Orlando , Joseph Orlando , John P. Orlando, and by his 3 sisters; Mary Murphy , Frances LiSacchi, and Amelia "Millie" Marchiello.
Visitation will be at MASON Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 9, 2005
from 2-4 & 7-9 PM
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 10, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. at St. James Major RC Church. Fr. Daniel Young of St. James Major RC Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery in Westfield.
