Ellen Bernice (Cook) Dorman

Ellen Bernice (Cook) Dorman, age 84, of Ross Street, Ripley, NY, died Saturday, August 06, 2005 at home following an extended illness.

She was born March 01, 1921 in Jamestown, New York the daughter of the late Eli and Elsie (Lucas) Cook.

A Ripley resident for the past 8 years, she had resided in Cassadaga and Stockton most all her life. She was a member of the first graduating class of the new Centralized Cassadaga Valley Central School District.
Ellen had been employed by Better Baked Foods at the Westfield Plant for many years. She had also bee employed at the former M. Wile Sewing Factory in Dunkirk.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Rebekah Lodge.
She enjoyed embroidery and crocheting and reading. She was a member of the Ripley Sr. Citizens and enjoyed extensive travel with her companion and Friend, Everett. She would winter in Waterboro, SC and summer in Chautauqua County. Above all else, she enjoyed making her home a warm and happy place for her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her companion and care giver, Everett Carr of Ripley, NY, her two sons Donald R. Dorman of Cassadaga, NY, and Lawrence "Larry" Dorman of Sinclairville, NY, her two daughters, Carol A. Brown of Westfield, NY, and Dawn Marie Bazzle of Ripley, NY. She is also survived by 9 Grandchildren and 6 Great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd, her father, Eli Cook, and her mother, Elsie (Lucas) Cook, as well as by her son Thomas H. Dorman and her sister Martha Cook.

Visitation will be at MASON Funeral Home on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St., Westfield.

Rev. Richard J. Hamilton of Stockton Community Church will be officiating.

Burial will be in the Stockton Greenwood Cemetery in Stockton.
