Henry E. Smith
"Smitty"


Henry E. "Smitty" Smith, age 62, of Westfield Sherman Road, Westfield, NY, died Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at home following a brief illness.

He was born December 09, 1942 in Oswego, New York the son of the late William and Corrine Smith.

A Westfield resident since 1960, he previously resided in Oswego, NY and was a graduate of the Oswego Schools.
Smitty had been employed by Vilardo Vineyards for several years and for the Town of Westfield Highway Department for 27 years, and for Rammelt Farms. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter, camper, NASCAR fan and NY Yankees fan. Smitty enjoyed watching golf and poker. While employed by the Town of Westfield, he and Bill Ottaway were team mates and Champions of the Chautauqua County Snow Fighting Contest an event that challenges the skills of the Snow Plow drivers of the Chautauqua County area.
He had been a member of the Loyal Order of Moose # 118 of Westfield and had been a former social member of the John W. Rogers Post 327 American Legion and the Wm. P. Jackway Post 6764 VFW both of Westfield.

Survivors include his companion of 24 years,
June B. Baker of Westfield, NY, his children, Charles Smith of Dunkirk, NY, Christopher Smith of Jamestown, NY, Charlene Issler of Westfield, NY, Deborah DeLand of Fairmont, WV, Robert E. Dorman of Mayville, NY, Steven Baker of Westfield, NY, along with 7 brothers, William, Lee, Rodney, David, Van, Darrin and Brent, and 3 sisters, Cindy, Brenda, and Sally as well as 5 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Smith, and his mother, Corrine Smith, and his daughter Lori A. Baker.

Visitation will be at MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St., Westfield, NY on Saturday, August 27, 2005 from 10 AM until 11 AM

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 27, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at MASON Funeral Home. Rev. Matthew Golibersuch of United Methodist Church of Westfield will be officiating.
