| | | WESTFIELD-Isabelle Mae (Schroeder) “Diz” Duryea, age 92, of South Hill Road, Erie, Formerly of Elm Street, Westfield, NY died Sunday, October 23, 2005 at Abington Crest SNF of Erie.
Mrs. Duryea was born July 6, 1913 at Buffalo, NY the daughter of the late William Schroeder and the late Effie Mae (Curtis) Schroeder Kingsley.
She had been employed by Barmon Brothers Sewing factory, the Murry Hill Hotel, and W.T. Grant. She owned and operated a Ceramics Shop on West Main St. in Westfield for many years. Diz had been very active assisting the Fire Dept. of Westfield, where her late husband had been Fire Chief, making sandwiches and coffee whenever needed.
Her hobbies included knitting, crossword puzzles and reading her Bible.
Diz was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church of Westfield, The
Women Of The Moose Chapter 517 of Westfield where she was past Regent, and the
Order of the Eastern Star Columbine Crown Chapter 128
She is survived by one daughter: Donna D. Leamer of Panama, NY
Her brother: Robert Schroeder of Mesa, AZ
Her six grandchildren, Gary Leamer and Ronald Leamer, Jr. both of N. Clymer, NY; Sandra Irish of North East, PA; Darlene Fuller of Panama, NY; Dean Duryea of State Of Maine; and Desiree “Sue” Duryea of the State of Georgia; 4 great grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren also survive.
Predeceased by her husband, Guy O. Duryea, her 2 sons David Duryea, and Kenneth Duryea, her granddaughter, Darlene Duryea, her 2 brothers, brother, Lloyd Schroeder and Floyd Schroeder, and her 2 sisters, Dorothy Court and Dawn Schroeder.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield, NY. Where The funeral will be held on Thursday at 12:00 with Rev. Charles Colton officiating. Private Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
