WESTFIELD-Wallace E. “Wally” Burnside, age 80, of Crandall St., Westfield died Friday, November 18, 2005 at Westfield Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Burnside was born October 15, 1925 at Brocton, NY the son of the late William J and Ida Maude (Bishop) Burnside.
He served in the Army from 1943 to 1946 during World War II with the 648th Tank Destroyer Battalion where he earned the rank of Corporal.
Wally was a graduate of Brocton high School and had resided in Brocton and Ripley before moving to Westfield. He had been Employed by Welch Foods as Cellar Foreman and General Foreman and by Seneca Juice Co. as Plant Manager and retired in 1985 from Grower´s Co-Op as Quality Control Manager.
Wally enjoyed his family and was a loving, husband, father and grandfather.
He had a heart made of gold and enjoyed life with gentleness and class.
Mr. Burnside was a member of Wm. P. Jackway Post 6764 VFW, and the Loyal Order Of Moose Lodge # 118, both of Westfield
He is survived by his wife: Beverly Jean (White) Burnside, two daughters: Margo Elaine Burnside of Orlando, FL, Lynn Barber of Dewittville, NY and one son: Edward R. Burnside of Westfield, NY
Also survived by two sisters: Mae Marie Casterton of MI, and Milicent Best of Fulton, NY and one brother: Wilfred Burnside of Brocton, NY, as well as by his 4 Grandchildren; Nicole and Heather Burnside of Erie, PA; Jesse and Megan Barber of Dewittville, NY
Friends may call on Sunday from 2-4 PM at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield, NY, where the Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Mark Teets officiating. Private burial will be in Willowbrook Park Cemetery, Dunkirk.
