Irene F. Tobias, age 85, of Cass Street, Westfield died Thursday, November 17, 2005 at Waters Of Westfield. Mrs. Tobias was born July 26, 1920 at Birmingham, England the daughter of the late William and Nellie (Tyler) Harper. She came to the United States in 1946. Irene was a dedicated home maker who was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Legally bling since age 5, Irene was able to accomplish many things in life. She enjoyed music and was an accomplished organ and piano player. She enjoyed her English Black Tea, for which she was known. Mrs. Tobias was a member of St. James Major Roman Catholic Church She is survived by her daughter: Christine Tobias of Westfield, NY; as well as by her 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren, and 3 step-grandchildren Predeceased by her husband, Stephan Tobias, who she married on Sept. 16, 1944 in England and who died on April 28, 1996, her son, Stephen Tobias, her daughter, Maxine Tyczkowski, her infant daughter, Maxine Jean Tobias and her two sisters Nellie Holland and Florence Marshall. Friends may call on Monday from 6-8 PM at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday morning at 9 :00 AM at St. James Major Roman Catholic Church, Westfield celebrated by Father Daniel Young. Private interment in St. James Cemetery.
