Helen (James) Weir

WESTFIELD-Helen J. (James) Weir, age 73, of East Avenue (Hawthorne Beach), Westfield died Friday, July 14, 2006 at Westfield Memorial Hospital.

She was born on October 23, 1932 at home in Portland, NY the daughter of the late Harland and Dortha (Correll) James.

Helen had been Westfield resident most all her life. She had been employed by C & E Telephone Co. for over 30 years as a Telephone Operator, retireing in 1986. She was then employed by the former Quality Vineyard Hotel and the Dunkirk Hotel and most recently for the Salvation Army as a Secretary.
She enjoyed playing cards, knitting and word puzzles. She had a geat sense of humor.
Mrs. Weir was a member of First Presbyterian Church And Society Of Westfield.


She is survived by her daughter: Staci Horton of Cassadaga, NY and her son: Shawn L. Weir of Glendale Heights, IL as well as by her four grandchildren; Jennifer, Patrick, Joshua and Alexis and by her Great Granddaughter, Kayla . She is also survived by her sister Roberta Sims of Nanuet, NY.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Perry James and her sister, Donna Wood.

Friends may call on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield, NY. Funeral services will be held Graveside in Union Cemetery, Westfield on Tuesday morning at 11:00 am.
