| | | Jennings: It’s with great sadness that the family of Dorothy Jean Kratzer, 68, announces her passing early Friday morning at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital while surrounded by the family she loved so dearly. Funeral services will be held at Living Word Assembly of God in Jennings on Monday, December 20, 2010 @ 2:00 PM with Rev. Robert & Rev. Roland Kratzer officiating. The Kratzer family requests visitation be observed on Sunday, Dec. 19th from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM and resume on Monday at 8:00 AM until the time of her services. Dorothy will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery following her services.
Dorothy Jean was born in Jennings to the late Raymond and Evelyn Dupont Landry in April of 1942. She worked with the Calcasieu Council of Aging. She enjoyed helping others especially the elderly. Dorothy was always very thoughtful of others and made lifelong contributions to the community. She was a member of New Life Worship Center in Moss Bluff. Dorothy loved eating out especially at the Olive Garden, that was her favorite. She also enjoyed taking trips to Galveston. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Leaving behind to cherish her memories are her beloved sons, Richard Kratzer and wife Elizabeth of Beaumont, Robert Kratzer and wife Melanie of Sulphur, and Roland Kratzer and wife Shannon of Harrisonburg; 1 brother, Donald Landry and wife Rita of Welsh; 6 sisters, Joan Crader and husband Charles of Jennings, Eloise Stutes and husband Richard of Lake Charles, Mona Richard and husband Jimmy of Jennings, Debbie Duhon and husband Butch of Jennings, Marie LaComb and husband Larry of Jennings, and Julie Landry of Jennings; 6 grandchildren, Laesha Duncan, Tanner, Danielle, Michael, Amanda, and Caleb Kratzer; & 2 great grandchildren, Ostin & Ayden Duncan; brother-in-law, Allen Reed of Jennings; and best friend, Carol Landry of Welsh.
Now Dorothy rests in Heaven with her parents, Raymond & Evelyn; and sister, Dolores Reed.
