Jennings: Itís with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Joyce Marie Williams, age 80 of Evangeline, announces her ascension into Heaven Wednesday evening while in the Jennings American Legion Hospital surrounded by the family she loved so dearly. A celebration of her life will be held at First Baptist Church in Jennings on Saturday, April 16, 2011 @ 10 AM with Pastor Boyce Laqua officiating. Visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church located on Hwy 100 beginning on Friday, April 15th from 5 PM until the time of her services. Ms. Williams will be laid to rest in Bluff Cemetery.

Joyce Marie was born in Breslau, Texas to the late Otto Henry and Hilda Kaelke Laqua in January of 1931. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to raising her children and taking care of her husband. Joyce was a very sweet and loving person who loved bringing joy to others. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and very devoted to her family who will cherish her memory. Her faith was always strong no matter what obstacles life put in front of her. She was the definition of Love, Loyalty, and Strength. Joyce was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Leaving behind to cherish her memories are her beloved sons, James Richard and wife Peggy of Lufkin, TX and David Richard and wife Vickie of Gillis; 3 daughters, Carolyn Richard and husband Mark of San Antonio, TX, Cindy Hebert and husband Mike of Jennings, and Ramona Richard Bailey and husband Tom of Hawaii; 3 step children, Amy Walker and husband Richard of Nevada, TX, Tommy Williams of Iowa, and Joe Allen Williams of Maine; 1 brother, Pastor Boyce L. Laqua and wife Vivian of Rock Port, TX; 1 sister, Sylvia Redinger of Bay City, TX; and 27 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren.

Joyce now rests in Heaven with her beloved parents, Otto Henry and Hilda; husband, Thomas Williams; and 2 sons, Harry Marrow and Franklin Richard.
